Derek Kane

Vice President and General Manager, KMC Systems

Derek Kane is the Vice President and General Manager. Derek oversees the day to day running of the company as well as development and implementation of the strategic business plan for the company’s growth and market expansion. Derek has over 20 years contract manufacturing experience in progressive leadership roles in high growth environments. He has proven experience on bringing new innovative medical devices to the market and into volume production around the world.

John McCool

Business Development

John McCool is a commercial leader with over two decades of experience in the diagnostics and life science industries.  John has worked for several industry leading organizations such as Eppendorf, Tecan, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Beckman Coulter.  Recognized for managing cross-functional teams within matrixed environments, John has a track record of creating and establishing customer loyalty and satisfaction by providing exceptional customer experiences.

Scott Leon

Engineering

Scott Leon directs all engineering activities for KMC's team of experienced mechanical, electrical, systems and software engineers. Scott ensures that the engineering team meets or exceeds customers' expectations by adhering to all product requirements, such as performance testing, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and quality assurance.

Mary Donelan

Manufacturing

Mary Donelan is the Executive Director of Manufacturing. Mary leads the Manufacturing teams in meeting and exceeding our customer’s requirements for Quality, On Time Delivery, and Cost. Her passion for lean manufacturing, team development, and customer satisfaction is what drives her strategic initiatives. Mary has over 20 years of manufacturing experience in various leadership roles with single and multisite facilities in the Defense and Aerospace, Healthcare, and Energy Industries.  Mary’s responsibilities have included supply chain management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and Operations.  Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science in Manufacturing Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Acelio Hernandez

Quality and Regulatory Compliance

Acelio Hernandez is a Global Manufacturing Quality and Regulatory Affairs leader with over two decades of experience in the Medical sector. Acelio has worked for several industry leading organizations such as Baxter Healthcare, Covidien (Now Medtronic), Jabil/Nypro and ConMed Corporation.  He has experience managing diverse portfolio organizations globally in the OEM and Contract Manufacturing environment for Class I, II, and II devices.  He has proven experience on ensuring Quality Management System compliance to the regulations in manufacturing globally. Acelio oversees the day to day running of the company Quality and Regulatory Affairs department ensuring that it meets or exceeds customers' expectations.

Gary Greenleaf

Supply Chain

Gary Greenleaf is the Director of Supply Chain at KMC Systems and brings over 20 years of leadership and expertise in the healthcare industry focused on dialysis, medical devices and pharmaceutical products.  Gary’s areas of responsibility include production planning, purchasing, procurement, negotiating, contracts, inventory control and international supply chain.  Gary leads with a customer focused approach and places customer service at the forefront of all his activities.  Focus is on customer satisfaction, establishing procedures, protocols, going above and beyond and executing with a sense of urgency in all we do here at KMC to improve the quality of lives.

Doug Van Valkenburg

General Counsel

Douglas (“Doug”) Van Valkenburg is General Counsel for KMC Systems and its parent company, overseeing all legal matters. He advises KMC’s leadership in the negotiation of strategic business transactions and U.S. Government contracts. Doug has a diverse background, with experience in the military, business and law. A retired Army Reserve Officer and combat veteran, he began his career in the active Army where he served in multiple Military Occupational Specialties. He followed his initial active military experience in the civilian sector with nine years of experience managing multi-million dollar sales territories for large corporations on the U.S. West coast. He began his legal career in 2004, after graduation from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and has sixteen years of legal experience, including large firm private practice, in-house counsel, and contemporaneous government legal experience as an Army Judge Advocate. The diversity of experience that Doug brings with him to his legal role provides him with a unique perspective of business and customer needs.

Joseph Freelove

Finance

As Director of Business Unit Finance, Joseph Freelove is responsible for all of the company’s financial functions including accounting, audit, and finance. His career spans more than 20 years of varied experience in financial management, business leadership and corporate strategy.

Dana Van Buskirk

Marketing

Dana Van Buskirk leads KMC's marketing team and is responsible for developing KMC's brand strategy, internal and external communications. Dana brings over 14 years of pharmaceutical and medical device advertising and marketing experience with over 10 of those years in content strategy and development. Dana holds a Master's in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Luther College.

Barbara Desmond

Sr Manager, Human Resources, Elbit America / KMC Systems

Barbara is the Sr Manager, Human Resources at Elbit America, KMC Systems. Barbara has been with the Elbit America for 15 years in varying capacities and has been practicing Human Resources for 30+ years. Prior to joining Elbit America, she held several Human Resources leadership positions at design and manufacturing companies in the medical and automation industries. In her current role Barbara is responsible for partnering with organizational leadership to plan, initiate and facilitate the delivery of human resources programs and service that support the organization’s business objectives and overall strategic plan. Barbara earned her BS in Business Management from UMASS Lowell, and is a current member of the Society of Human Resources Management.
